Its the last weekend of Mardi Gras! Since the drive to New Orleans is too long and boring for me its time to head out to Galveston, TX.

Saturday February 18, 2012 there will be a parade on the Seawall at 11am and again at 6:30pm

Sunday February 19, 2012 there will be a parade on the Seawall at 1pm and the

CHILDRENS PARADE will be on the Seawall at 2pm! The parade goes from 27th and Seawall to 47th and Seawall.

100th Day of School

Today is HISD's 100th day of school. My daughters school is having a parade and she had to decorate a t-shirt with 100 items, anything she wanted. She picked candy! We covered the front of the shirt with real candy and on the back we had some candy scrapbook paper so we cut em out and glued them on.

Too early in the morning for that flash! lol

And the cherry on top for me was her hair bow! I made it very last minute and it only took me a few minutes to throw it together. but i think it came out very cute!

V-day is a couple of weeks away! Already I feel like this year is flying by! Time to start making Valentines Day cards with Lexy. We always buy them ready to go but this year we are thinking of making them with the thoughts that they might come out better than a store bought card... Lets see how this goes.

We have been looking up ideas and so far one that I think looks really cute and easy is pencil toppers. (her teaccher asked for pencils anyway) you can find directions here

Astros Fans

Who's ready for baseball season?!? If you never were you might change your mind this season...

The Astros have announced some really good fan-friendly initiatives! They have lowered ticket prices on over 5,000 seats! They will also have 14 oz cups of beer for $5! And the best one for me is that they will now allow you to bring in your own food and drink!

There are rules for bringing in your own food, it must be in a clear bag, and you can only bring in one clear bottle of water per person.

Cleaning out the closet.

I have recently lost a little bit of weight.. Now most of my clothes fit better but there are a few of my fav items that are just too big. I'm trying to figure out what to do with them. I got a sewing machine for christmas! So I may do a few alterations once I figure out how to use it. But I dont think they can all be altered so I'm taking things out one at a time and I will be posting them on ebay!

Estate Sale Findings

Over the weekend we went to our first Estate Sale. Not sure what to expect we went in a little lost. But it was intresting i liked it, a little weird at first because your going through someones house...

We found this cute little Coca-Cola Bottle. Then later we started looking up Coca-Cola Bottles and found out that we have a Georgia Green Coca-Cola Bottle that might have been made in 1957 (we think that because it says "57-01" and this is supposed to be the year it was made and the mold count) I might put this on ebay some time in the near future. Still finding out new facts about it.

I would go to another Estate Sale hopefully i find one going on this weekend!

Getting off The Bottle....

I have a 7 year old and a 1 1/2 year old. Getting my daughter off the bottle was very easy, from one day to the next there was no more baby bottle. No problems. She had just turned 1. Now with this guy... He will be 2 in four months and we didnt think we would ever be able to take the baby bottle away from him. But since he finally bit through his last nipple the other day, I decided now would be a good time to make him quit. Since he is older he is able to communicate a lot more than she was when this happened so I did have to tell him that we needed to throw it in the trash. And the first night was surprisingly easy! He did ask for his "baba" but did settle for his cuppy with no problems. Tonight we are on night #2 He is asleep now but it wasn't easy. I have never had any bedtime problems with this little guy so tonight was a rough one. Lets see how the rest of the night goes...

My advice for all mothers get rid of the "baba" before they can ask for it!

Discovery Green- from 11am-5pm discovery green flea will be going on (flea market)and the Buxton Band will be playing. Friends for life will also be at the park from 12-6pm with animals to adopt.
Toyota Center- 7pm Houston Rockets are playing! (love the rockets!) (there are lots of sites that have discount tickets but I'd rather buy my tickets at Toyota Center)
Reliant Center- 7pm Monster Jam- (my 1 yr old son went last weekend and he loved it!!) tickets range in prices but you can get FREE pit passes at jack in the box.

Selling on Ebay

I recently began clearing out a few nooks and crannies around our house which made me realize we had too much "stuff." So we decided to sell a few things on ebay. We started listing things like DVDs and things I had left over from being an Avon Rep. My first auction ended this week and after seeing how easy it was I plan on listing much much more.. I will list my sons clothes and shoes, more dvds, and whatever else i can find around here!

Selling on ebay is easy! Just follow a few simple steps:

1. make a paypal account

2. open a selling account on ebay

3. link these 2 accounts

4. list your items to sell

5. if your item sells wait for an email from ebay saying you have been paid

6. now print your shipping labels from ebay and send your package!

Its that easy!

A few things you should know about selling on ebay: It takes time (I'm home all day anyway)

there are fee's (you pay ebay a percentage only if your item sells, you have to pay paypal for receiving money) then after your first auction ends ebay holds your money for up to 21 days (i guess they do this to make sure your not trying to run a scam and actually selling items)

I only have one auction under my belt so far but I have a few ending later today I'm excited! I will I will continue to list more things on ebay I think its much easier and better than a yard sale!
